Black Owned Indie Beauty Brands

Black Owned Indie

Beauty Brands to

Support

Black Lives Matter Instagram Post.png

I have been quiet, quiet because I have been listening, learning, and figuring out what actions I can take at this very moment. Action that makes a difference, right now.

For me, that is putting my money behind brands whose values I feel I can stand behind. Sadly some of my favorite prestige beauty brands have had leaders whos perspective directly conflicts with what I believe.

As a makeup artist for over 15 years I have been trained and educated to perform services on clients no matter their age, sex, or skin tone. Inclusion and diversity are the core principles of my extensive training.

What I can do right now is support black-owned indie beauty brands, and share some of my favorites for you all to try. there is so much conversation to be had but for now, I wanted to create a list to share with you all.

If you have a favorite black-owned business please share! We would love to support and share as much as we can.

Mented- We want all women, from light to tan to dark skin tones, to feel like they have makeup that actually works for their complexions, so we've created the shades to help accomplish that. (vegan line)

Lamik Beauty Vegan makeup line for multicultural women. We are creating the highest quality products with the purest ingredients. We are devoted to promoting the health of our customers and their communities. We educate our customers with love and care.

Beauty Bakerie Makeup- This feel-good brand is really paving the way I am in awe of their passion to educate, commitment to social justice reform, plus they are cruelty-free and vegan.

Danessa Myricks - An artistry brand, online education, makeup kit staples

Uoma- UOMA - Means beautiful and we believe that beauty starts the moment you decide to be yourself. We exist to re-write the rules of inclusivity and diversity to create a world of beauty that truly is for all of us.
